eBay Is Setting Us Up To Fail....

This program will only show the pics so big; Click on the picture to view the larger image of the quote, hit your back button to return:

I am really not an I told you so person. I want these eBay changes to mean nothing for all of us more than anything. But that is not what the data shows.

I have been saying for weeks that eBay has set every good seller up for failure and now the very top person who could give us the facts is saying the same exact thing.

These quote images are copied from the February 6, 2008, PDF file of an interview by Jeetil Patel; an Analyst for Deutsche Bank Securities who is interviewing Steve Grossberg who is President of the IMA, Internet Merchant Association.

You can read the PDF file below. I also have it in the links on the right side. Please forward this page to anyone you think the eBay changes will effect. The word has to get out about how disastrous this truly is. Below that is a blog written by Steve Grossberg again that clearly shows there is no winning.

IMA President Interview

How The New DSR Ratings Help Seal Or Fate

I have really tried over the last few weeks to get passed my initial furry and move on. I have tried using this anger for the good and I do honestly believe this is THE BEST thing eBay has done to good sellers..why? Because good sellers have the ability to build up their own reputation without eBay and now this is the time to do it.

So, I am simply going to copy some of the main snipits and I expect each and every wonderful seller to open the links and do the best thing you can do for yourselves...start working to move inland.

Changes will not be successful....and eBay misinterprets their own data...

eBay has not changed fees to help anyone, they simply shuffled the deck:

Not even the best of the best qualify for any discounts.

eBay is compared to "big brother"

The biggest complaint on eBay is NOT SH Fees or FB Retaliation. It is something most sellers have no control over...delivery time:

Sellers who give FREE shipping only get 4.7s

No one will qualify for the discounts...

The New DSR will be disastrous..

More About the DSR & Unchecked Feedback System

Even Kohl's has only an 80% satisfaction rate, but eBay wants us to have a 95%

eBay is in fact misinterpreting data to justify their changes.

eBay only has a 30% sale rate..

eBay made the feedback changes due to less than 1% of buyer complaints

I am now going to stop because I think there is enough info here to see this interviewer is a must read. These are just small parts of a lot more information.

I think everyone that relies on eBay for anything needs to take their power back. I whole heartedly believe that the high majority of good sellers can build else where and I whole heartedly believe that there are tons of other shopping choices. eBay has consistently shown that they are not good with either side of the story, for sellers or buyers..so why do we stay?

It is not the only alternative, and don't let people fool you into thinking it is.

A lot of what eBay has ever said, or done, is a veil of smoke and mirrors...and the people who know eBay best tend to agree.
